My reaction to this soup mix is mixed. On the 'plus' side, there are no 'fake' ingredients. Every ingredient is something I have or occasionally have in my own kitchen (ok, not as 'powders' or 'flakes,' but as the actual vegetable, but it's still not a purely chemically-manufactured substance). On the 'minus' side, I've tried it as a 'soup' twice, once 'as-is' just following the instructions on the package, the second time 'enhancing' it with vegetables and tomatoes. As 'onion soup' I thought it was terrible. As 'vegetable soup' it wasn't much better. However, I suspect it is EXCELLENT as an 'ingredient' in dips, in liquids for braising meat, as a 'coating' for roasting meat wrapped in parchment paper or foil....things like that. I just didn't care for it as a soup. May try it as a dip next and see how that tastes. Maybe I'm just a bit 'spoiled.' My homemade onion soup recipe is pretty hard to beat.
