How to Reduce Burr Generation on the Surface of Electroplated Nickel Workpieces
Author: Robby
The methods to reduce the burr generation on the surface of nickel plating workpiece mainly include the following aspects:
- Control the pH value and temperature of the plating solution: Control the pH value between 3.8-4.2, and the liquid temperature between 50-60 degrees, too low a temperature will lead to crystallization of the plating bath, which will produce burrs.
- Regular filtration of plating solution: Use filter mesh to filter the plating solution to reduce impurities, and clean the pole plate and reservoir regularly to keep the plating solution clean.
- Check and maintain the rinse tank: Make sure the rinse tank is free of moss and other impurities, and the pure water piping should be kept clean to avoid bringing impurities into the nickel tank.
- Check the filtration circulating system: make sure that there is no air leakage in the pipeline of the filtration circulating system, and that there is no air bubble in the plating solution filtered out, so as to avoid the filtration aids from entering into the plating solution.
- Replace the anode filter bag: Check the anode filter bag regularly and replace the broken filter bag to ensure the normal work of the anode filter bag.
- Reduce the current density: too high current density will lead to roughness of the plating layer and the generation of burrs, reduce the current density can effectively reduce the burrs.
- Control Ni salt composition: Reducing Ni salt composition can reduce the incomplete reaction of the plating layer, thus reducing the generation of burrs.
Through the above methods, the burr generation on the surface of nickel plating workpiece can be effectively reduced and the plating quality can be improved.
